About PLAYGROUND

Playground Jewellery is an Adelaide/Tarntanya-based practice by Jasper Goldney that follows his curiosity and passion for natural history.

Though he primarily uses lost-wax casting for much of his work, his practice is now beginning to be shaped by the influences of traditional Japanese alloying and patinating techniques, as well as French art nouveau techniques. By studying such influences he is working to revive methods that are under-practiced in contemporary jewellery, and explore the creative possibilities that these colouring techniques open up.

Jasper aims to combine a mix of traditional and contemporary techniques together with his own artistic background to create playful and exciting compositional pieces that showcase the beauty of the Australian natural world, as well as his love for paleontology and entomology.
